About this property
Hosted by Be Our Gaston
Because everyone wants to be near Forsyth, we aptly named this rental “A Walk in the Park.” Only one block away on gorgeous Gaston St, the space itself subtly recreates the vibe of meandering through a parklike setting. Essentially, A Walk in the Park tells a story. As you enter, a huge mural of 19th century park-goers greet you. Fountain water droplets are conveyed through the chandelier and kitchen wall tile, while animals in the park are represented via curtain tie-backs. Everywhere you look, there are subtle hints of this lively environment. And then, in the bedroom, a hand-painted oil replica of Ramon Casas’s “Decadent Young Woman: After the Dance,” depicts a 19th century woman exhausted from her day out.
A Walk in the Park is a luxury one-bedroom rental with a full bath and shower, full kitchen, dedicated laundry room, and full living area. It has been appointed with items you’re unlikely to see in other rentals in an effort to ensure an enjoyable and memorable stay! Sourcing from local antique shops allowed us to decorate A Walk in the Park with original pieces of decor. Rather than mass-produced knick-knacks and machine printed artwork, you’ll find actual paintings and truly unique decor items.
In 1868, houses 202, 204, and 206 E. Gaston were all constructed for Algernon Hartridge, a confederate lieutenant and cotton merchant with notable real estate holdings throughout the historic district. An embroidered curtain in the bedroom reads "1868" to remind you of the many, many people who have traversed the very space you occupy for your Savannah getaway.
